About the Program
Students that join the Women’s, Gender, and Sexualities Studies program at the University of Connecticut receive countless life-long benefits. The WGSS program takes an intersectional approach to feminist and queer theory. Courses discuss overlapping aspects of identity, including:

WGSS applies to every aspect of life, including education, professional work, economics, politics, and social norms. WGSS connects to all other majors and minors offered at the University of Connecticut and enriches students’ understanding of STEM, law, medicine, literature, teaching, and psychology. Students with a background in WGSS can pursue a variety of careers and are equipped to deal with contemporary social issues and challenges within each field.
