Carol Gray
Political Science/WGSS
Pronouns: She/Her
“The Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies (WGSS) courses I have taught, Women and Politics and Gender and Reproductive Law and Politics, have provided me with the opportunity to bring together my passion for gender issues, politics and law through interdisciplinary, collaborative teaching. Part of my research pertains to gender rights as human rights with an emphasis on social movements and legal reform striving for equality. I incorporate diverse racial, gender and geographic perspectives, including the Global South. The Feminist Studies graduate certificate from WGSS, as well as UConn’s Race, Ethnicity and Politics certificate, has provided me a strong foundation to teach courses and to apply for fellowships dealing with the intersectionality of gender, race, ethnicity and class. I was selected as a recipient of UConn’s Wood/Raith Fellowship based on gender and identity which supports my research on narratives by women activists from three different countries.”
