Mollie Kervick

English/WGSS

Pronouns: She/Her

“Being a part of the instructor team for a WGSS course is one way that I put my research into practice. I study the ways people form care networks, what I call networks of nurture, in Irish literature and culture. Through the lens of feminist and queer theories, I consider how we connect with, learn from, and care for others and ourselves–all things I see as essential to feminist praxis. By teaching WGSS, I actively broaden my disciplinary scope (Irish literature) and guide students with a wide range of expertise to develop care communities as they move beyond my classroom and beyond college altogether. In this way, my experience in WGSS adds diversity to my teaching experience and skill set which will be valuable as I complete my PhD and embark on the academic job search.”
