Samantha Archer
Anthropology/WGSS
Pronouns: She/Her
“I hold a bachelor’s degree in Women’s and Gender Studies from the University of Texas at Austin. Having the opportunity to participate in a scholarly community dedicated to feminist and queer research was absolutely critical for my academic growth as an undergraduate. I approach my doctoral research from critical feminist and queer perspectives, and I see teaching and participating in the WGSS community at UConn as a continuation of the academic enrichment I received from the Department of Women’s and Gender Studies and the Gender and Sexuality Center at UT. Feminist pedagog(ies) teach us that we must all learn from each other and speak from the experience of our lives. Teaching in feminist community is really a commitment to learning from our students and recognizing that our education is never finished.”
